Christina

Each week, you will have the opportunity to see the faces of real people that you are helping to make real changes for. Though poverty and brokenness are detrimental in the inner city of Los Angeles, there are ways that you can help countless families and individuals get their lives restored- block by block.

Christina - Helped by the Food Truck

Christina is the oldest of five children growing up in the housing project of Wyvernwood. Her single mother works countless hours to support Christina and her four siblings, yet the income is not enough to adequately feed and take care of a family of six. A friend told Christina’s family about The Dream Center food truck that comes to her neighborhood. Through the outreach, Christina’s family receives free food to help her mother make ends meet.

Nick - Given a Second Chance

A year ago, Nick would have never guessed where his life was leading him. “I had a great life,” Nick says, “but that all changed.” After developing an addiction to gambling, Nick said, “Within a few months, I lost my family and friends, my fiancĂ©e, and I kept getting deeper and deeper in debt.” Since joining The Dream Center’s Discipleship program, Nick’s life has changed dramatically. “I’ve been a Christian my whole life, but I’ve never read the Word like this before.” Thanks to supporters like you, Nick and others are given a second chance.

Agi - Helped by Adopt-A-Block

Originally from Hungary, Agi moved to Los Angeles from Montreal, Quebec, Canada 30 years ago. She now lives with her nephew in a Skid Row SRO Hotel. Although they face challenges on a daily basis, Agi and her nephew have been helped by the volunteers of The Dream Center, who go out with Adopt-A-Block and have made a difference in their lives. “I’ve gotten to know them,” Agi says. “They’re all very nice people. They help us a lot.”

Eddie - A Dad & Husband Helped by the Food Truck

Eddie has been blessed to have a job and a car to support his wife and children. However, he still struggles from check to check to make sure he can clothe and feed his growing family. He happened upon The Dream Center’s food truck in his neighborhood, and was able to receive groceries for free. There was help available, and Eddie found it just in time, so that he may continue to provide completely for his family.
